Akid and I went to a benefit for Swan View, a therapeutic equestrian program, a couple of weeks ago, accompanied by her parents and mine. I picked up the karaoke mike again, something I haven't done in 4 years. Good times.
I did purchase some cowboy boots, as promised on akid's blog, and a western shirt, pictured here. But I let akid wear my cowboy hat and so here I am wearing auntc's hat. And looking mighty fine, I might add. Many thanks to akid's mom for capturing the moment.
The last time I sang karaoke was in a bar in Eureka Springs, AR on a grand vacation that akid and I took, camping and road tripping and adventuring four long years ago. I love karaoke.

After living in China for 4 years, it's hard for me to enjoy karaoke. But I still remember the first time i went karaoke. It was in Canada (a few month before I met Steve) My friend Paola and I went to this cool night bar, we sat in the dark, they brought the microphone to our table and I sang from there a Tracy Chapman song. I can't sing to save my life so I'm thrilled about singing a song I love, out loud but nobody could see my face. That's the karaoke I like.
i think it sounds like great fun to go karaoking with steve and mj. we'll be on the lookout for a good place to go.
I so admire people who can. If I could, I think I would at least once a month. Go for it, Lisa! You have a beautiful voice.
