One of my pet peeves--tomatoes that have drops of water (?) on them in pictures of hamburgers.
I am always curious about the work that goes into food photography. What a job that must be.
Another one of my pet peeves--when blogger turns a picture blue.
Something interesting you might want to try--do a search for pictures of hamburgers on the internet.
I am going to try to come back to blogger slowly.
baby steps . . .

It is wet because it is so fresh it was recently washed.
have you ever washed a tomato and then put it on a hamburger? it doesn't have drops on it. I have a friend who used to work in a restaurant where they brought around a dessert tray. The "vanilla ice cream" on top of the brownie on the dessert tray was a scoop of real butter.
yum.
those drops aren't water. I bet they're some kind of heavy oil.
So good to have you back in the blog world, Lise, both as a commenter and a poster.
I think the moisture on the skin of the blue tomato in your photo are the tears of a migrant worker who, under slave labor conditions, has been forced to pick it and/or prepare it. ¡La lucha continua!
you're probably right.
on another note--anybody got any ideas why my photos are turning up blue on blogger?
No idea. It only happened to me once--with a photo of Emilio ("Blue Boy Smiles, Squeals, Flips, Sleeps"). At some level, the whims of the Blog Gods shall always remain mysterious to us mere mortals, I fear.
Although I had never given it a thought, I agree with you that it's almost impossible to "water drop" a tomato. They just run right off. I think we'd all be appalled at the money they spend trying to make sure that certain things look a certain, unnatural way on commercials. I miss you and wish to see you.
